Map & Directions
The concept of the library has soared into the information age and Marywood’s next century. It is not a storehouse for books, but a user-focused, service-rich environment for study and collaboration. The books are still safely there—compressed into an impressive Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), thus allowing more multi-use space. Marywood’s Learning Commons incorporates this advanced technological use of space in fulfilling a library’s traditional mission.
The Automated Storage and Retrieval System offers ready access to information, nearly instant results, and valuable space preservation for learning. The ASRS is visible in the Atrium of the Learning Commons in a soundproof glass enclosure that serves as its own living exhibit of tradition transformed by technology.
Print materials are housed in the Automated Storage and Retrieval System. To request a book, place a hold via the Online Catalog.
